GERALDINE BOLAND BSC (Hons) Physiotherapy
Stott Pilates Certified Instructor
Geraldine graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1987. She then gained extensive experience, working as a Junior Physiotherapist in London followed by a 2 year stint in The Wellesley Teaching Hospital in Toronto. This was followed by 3 years in North London Hospitals working as Senior Physiotherapist in charge of the Out – Patient and Orthopaedic departments.
In 1994 Geraldine opened Kildare Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic. Having treated a wide variety of complaints – from adolescent problems to club (footballs/athletics) sports injuries to general back/neck/arthritic problems etc. – the practice is long since well established and has gained a reputation for professional, efficient and effective treatments.
The practice has evolved over the years to meet patient’s needs and in 2007 – Geraldine trained and qualified as a Stott Pilates Instructor. This has complimented the physiotherapy practice and the clinic now runs ongoing weekly classes both for patients and non-patients (male & female) alike.
Geraldine’s area of special interest is in “Health Promotion”. This varies from specific individual programmes to improve health and fitness to flexibility programmes etc. In 2014 Geraldine trained as a “Community Walking Leader” and subsequently established the “Kildare Town Walking Group” – a voluntary group which has seen many local people get fitter, build up a social network, reduce weight and even come off diabetes medication.
Geraldine is married with 3 teenage daughters. Her “current interests” include walking / running, Pilates, travelling, learning Italian and the theatre.
From September 2017 – Geraldine will embark on a 2 year part-time Masters degree in Health promotion at NUIG
